Director of Engineering (Growth) – Digital Asset Platform

Experienced as an Engineering Leader or Head of Growth and/or Strategy with a technical background? If this describes you and you’re interested in the next step up this could be the opportunity for you! This position is for an Engineering Director with a focus on the Growth & Monetization team at one of the largest, leading Digital Asset Exchange/Platform providers.

The role will allow you to lead in shaping the future of their Retail products, driving growth initiatives & increasing revenue in the crypto landscape. This fundamental role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the further development of their consumer-facing platform.

You will:

  • Lead, grow and guide a talented team of engineers, whilst advocating a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous development.
  • Drive technical strategy, aligning with the company's vision and overarching goals.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and other seniors within the business (product managers, designers etc.)
  • Instil a growth mindset within the team, emphasizing experimentation, data-driven decision-making, and rapid iterations to enhance user acquisition, engagement, and conversion.
  • Actively driving project deadlines, best practices, and upholding high standards of code quality and security.


  • Unwavering integrity, able to lead the department by example.
  • 10+ years of hands-on software engineering experience, ideally with a background in high growth environment(s).
  • Worked specifically on designing back-end systems with JVM languages (Java / Kotlin / Scala)
  • Proven track record of working on consumer and retail-focused projects, with a sound understanding of user behaviours and preferences.
  • Strong leadership & people management skills, including experience in leading and scaling engineering teams.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a similar field.
  • Excellent communication skills - the ability to effectively work and collaborate with a global, cross-functional team is essential for this position!

Bonus Skills and Experience:

  • Prior experience in a start-up/scale-up or as a founder of your own business.
  • Demonstrated experience working on crypto/DeFi projects.
