Linux Administrator – Proprietary Trading Firm
Our well-established US Prop. Trading client has been making waves in the industry for over a decade now, so what next? Expansion! This firm has an impeccable reputation and after landing in Europe, needs to bulk out their new Amsterdam office. They need a Linux Administrator to join them in their newest mission.
This department will be responsible for maintaining & supporting the organisation's US operations from this side of the globe. Think exciting ‘start-up’ environment but the financials & mainframe of an already very well-oiled machine.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage Linux systems: deploy, configure, and maintain bare metal & virtual servers.
- Assist with the building & optimising of low-latency servers, troubleshoot networking issues as they arise.
- Advocate & encourage DevOps/SRE best practices.
- Create documentation for processes and solutions to recommend new, and maintain existing streamlined operations.
- Support other teams within the business & mitigate any risk to day to day operations.
Essential skills:
- 3+ years of Linux/UNIX system administration experience.
- Scripting proficiency, ideally Python.
- Familiarity with tools such as GitLab, Ansible, Terraform, Prometheus & Grafana.
- Some knowledge of GCP and GKE/Docker for containerization & orchestration.
- Good understanding of TCP & UDP protocols.
