Senior Software/Platform Engineer – Development Tools

Responsibilities:
· Lead the design, development, and upkeep of platform infrastructure, emphasizing scalability, reliability, and peak performance.
· Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to comprehend their requirements and deliver effective solutions.
· Innovate and enrich the development tools and frameworks leveraged by our engineering teams, streamlining the software development process, and boosting productivity. This encompasses automated testing frameworks, as well as continuous integration and delivery pipelines.
· Offer technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering their professional growth.
· Keep abreast of emerging technologies and industry best practices in platform engineering and development tools, advocating for their adoption where relevant.
· Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and enhance development workflows, contributing to overall efficiency gains.
· Continually evaluate and optimize existing tools and infrastructure to elevate efficiency and maintain a high level of developer productivity.
Qualifications:
· Extensive experience as a software engineer, with a strong emphasis on platform engineering and development tools.
· Proficiency in at least one programming language, ideally Python, C++, or Rust.
· Comprehensive knowledge of build systems (e.g., Bazel/CMake/Gradle etc.)
· In-depth understanding of platform engineering concepts, covering cloud infrastructure, containerization, orchestration, and scalability.
· Proven track record in developing and maintaining development tools and frameworks, code generators, testing frameworks, and CI/CD pipelines.
This position is hybrid, with 2-3 days per week in the New York office. Base salary can be $250k with total compensation of up to $350k per year.
